Autoarchive not deleting old mail messages in Personal Folders

Auto-archive is supposed to MOVE old items to Archive folders, rather it only
seems to COPY them to the Archive folders. Consequently, my mailbox size is
not being reduced. Do I have to manually delete old items after they have
been archived?

Are you compacting the pst file after archiving?

AutoArchive does move old items from the source data store to the archive PST.
State your exact AutoArchive settings. State your Outlook version and data
store type.

Outlook 2002 SP3

The following settings were checked:

Run Auto-archive every 1 days
Delete expired items
Archive or delete old items
Show archive folder in folder list
Clean out items older than 3 months
Move old items to: C:\Documents and Settings\Guy\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst

Personal folders store file: Outlook.pst

When you look in archive.pst and examine the items there, are you saying that
those exact same items remain in Outlook.pst? If so, I can't explain it.
