Hi

Can someone please tell me....is there a way to tell Outlook to autoarchive
emails that are greater than a certain size, e.g. > 500KB? Or maybe
someone's written a macro that will do that?

I've had a good look through the help, and can not find anything relating to
size - it's always date-related.

We can only have mailboxes that are 200MB in size here, and I am too
frequently filling mine up due to attachments. Moving the large ones to the
archive takes time, and I'm sure there must be a better way.

Regards

Kevin Maher

have you tried the Mailbox cleanup fucntion or is your version too old to
have it? You forgot to state that basic bit of info - your version.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

Sorry, thought of that after I sent it. I'm using Outlook 2003 SP2.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I have used Mailbox Cleanup to identify the big
ones - but I want to go further, and create a macro that will:
1. run that search
2. go thru each email it finds in that search, and
a) see what folder in my Mailbox it resides in
b) move that email to my Archive, and place it in the folder in my
archive which has the same name as the originating folder

I don't know the correct commands to use, so was going to record a macro
which moved one email from the mailbox to the archive, then modify the code
to do what I describe above - but there's no "Record new Macro" function in
Outlook

Any suggestions, particularly regarding the code required to do that?
