auto thumbnail question

FP200, Win 98

I'm helping out a friend with their website, and they've used the auto
thumbnail feature for all their pictures. But the strange thing is that
even though the links of the thumbnails are pointing to the proper pictures
(in the proper directory) the link comes up 404 on almost every page and
I'm having to go in and relink every picture. I've tried running
recalculate hyperlinks but it had no effect. Is there some easy fix for
this or am I going to be up all night?

Make sure that you have a web open (File Menu | Open Web) and that all image
have been imported into the current open web before inserting on the page
and then making thumbnails.

Actually those steps had already been followed, but thanks for the help. I
think the problem was in publishing to the server (the site was too large at
first and they had to get more space).

But I do have another quick question about thumbnails...I've never actually
used the auto-thumbnail feature myself... does FP simply create a small
thumbnail in the same folder that the graphic is stored in or does it create
a new folder for them? And once you set up your thumbnail settings will
they remail that way for every web site until you change them?

That's what I always do... and that's why I'm not exactly familiar with
FP's process. Unfortunately, my friend has no clue how to do any of
this, she just knows how to upload new pictures to her company web site
(a used car lot) from a set of notes provided by the original designer.
And as you might could imagine, her web site is a complete mess.
