I created an auto text but now when I go to insert it the size of the font
automatically blows out in 72 with one letter filling a whole page. How can
I stop this?

If you create an autotext entry that includes the paragraph mark, the entry
is saved with the formatting style that was applied to the text you saved.
If you save a text without the paragraph mark it is inserted with the
formatting of the text at the cursor. The questions then must be, what did
you save and what is the format of the text into which you are inserting it?
