Hi,

I have a site I built, and checked, and published in FrontPage 2003,
and all was good.

I decided I wanted to change some pages, and all my quotes were changed
to smart quotes. All my apostropies were changed to smart apostropies.
These were " not " (amp + quot; if it gets translated)

I know my source files got changed somehow, because I can look at the
published site, and the quotes are fine. I look at my local files, and
they are corrupt.

I think this is FP, but it might be something else, but I can't think
what.

Has anyone heard of this? How can I prevent this from happening again?

It is not FrontPage, but sounds like a trick Word does if you edit in
Word.

That's the strange thing, I would expect that if I copied out of Word,
but I didn't. Word had nothing to do with these files.

I could brush it off if this happend on one page, I would think ok,
maybe I copy-pasted and forgot.

But this happend for every case of a " or ' across 45 pages, on a site
I had checked and published.

I changed them all back, but I just want to avoid this in the future.
Especially since I might have missed one, and when I publish my
changes, hope I don't have a ?quote? problem going on.
