Auto screen capture?

I've been fiddling with various cam apps in an attempt to set up a
reliable networked security cam, and I think I might have cracked it
save for one issue.

I've used Pryme, which has motion detection built in - but I've found
the program to be flaky, and it really doesn't like to run over a VNC
network ( the speed's not up to much either ).

I've found though that Netmeeting runs as solid as a rock, but does
nothing other than serve a webcam view - and it occurred to me that
what's needed is a utility that can detect a change on the
screen...either the whole screen or a selected portion...and emit a
beep.

I figured a screen capture app might be the ticket - though I wouldn't
really need to save any images...but what I would need is a sound when
any change in the screen is detected.
Have found an app that nearly does the trick ( Bulent's Screen
Recorder v1.5a ), but not quite.

Any recommendations?

Cheers,
