I'd like to have an auto response to emails for my business....Do I have to
use the out of office assistant, or is there another way. If I have to use
the out of office assistant....is there a way to remove the default
beginning to the response that says "I'm out of the office..."
Thanks

You could use a rule, but you could run the risk of a mail loop.

Well, okay, but that's not helpful for this.
Lots of people have auto responses go out .....how do they do it?

Why not? It will do what you say you want.

I too am looking for this solution for our situation.. i'm actually
thinking of just using that Out of office response.. i'm not sure why
it wouldnt work i suppose.

I think other companies, if using outlook or similar, must be using
these 3rd party auto reply plugins i've seen.

We run exchange 2007.. i thought there would be transport rules for
this, but apparently not.
