On a mailing list I'm on, messages are sent "on behalf of" the actual
sender. I would like to set up an auto reply for some of the messages, but
when I set it up a rule, it replies to the from address and not the "on
behalf of" address. Is there any way to make it reply to the "on behalf of"
address?

No since that is not the sending address.
