Is there any way of making XP pro automatically rename a file (eg by
adding (1), (2), etc. at the end) when I drag into a folder?

The standard 'would you like to replace? y/n' message is so irritating
and unhelpful!

Thanks

There is no option in Windows XP, which allow you to automatically rename all
the files. However, you can rename multiple files at once as describe by you.
See the following article, which describe how to rename multiple files at
once:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320167

Let us know!
