Auto receive fax

Please help, until recently I have alway received fax on auto after two rings
(using Motorola SM56 modem with XP fax service). Since my computer came back
from being stripped and every thing reinstalled, incoming fax will not work.
I have tried unistalling modem and XP fax service and reinstalling same. All
the auto receive tick boxes are ticked. Any suggestions??
