I'm running XP Pro SP2 , Auto Play will not work on either of my music/video
devices .
I've gone to the device ,Properties ,checked Auto Play and Apply .
I can only get them to work using Windows Media Player ,and clicking on the
device and Play.
Thanks

In XP Home and for each applicable device AutoPlay has four properties in a
drop-down list. I don't expect a difference with Pro.
They are: music files, pictures, video files, mixed content.

For EACH of these FOUR AutoPlay properties you have a choice (radio buttons)
of "Prompt me..." and "Select an action to perform". The latter lets you
select actions from a list.
Don't forget to "Apply" every choice before moving to the next one.

(Just today these properties had disappeared for one device with me.)
