Auto macro when saved

I have a template that has an external data link to an excel file for a
lookup table. The data needs to be updated everytime the template is used.
I also need the data connection severed when the file (not the template) is
saved. Is there such a thing as an autosave macro? I just need this one
line to run: ActiveSheet.QueryTables(1).Delete
