Auto-login not working on Msgr. 5.0

I seem to have lost the feature that automatically logs
me in to Windows Messenger 5.0 when it starts up. This
worked when I had Messenger 4.7 installed and assume I
messed something up when I initially installed 5.0, and
it is preventing me from being automatically logged in.

I have these Windows Messenger 5.0 options checked:
- Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts
- Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background

Windows Messenger starts and is running in the background
after I boot up, but I have to click on the Messenger
icon in the tray to open the Messenger window and then I
must manually click on "Click here to sign in" to get
logged in.

I would like to be logged in automatically. How can I
reset Windows Messenger to do this? Thanks.
