Was given this site by another group.

What I need is an application which will log the user off the pc at either a
given time or after a given number of hours. This should also only allow
them back after either a given time, like the next day, or if I give the
correct password.

This is to stop the kids from using the pc all day and all night, without
the use of timers which I feel can cause problem due to incorrect shutdown
procedures.

any help here most gratefully received.

Thanks in advance Vaughn

You can use a program that comes with the Windows 2003 Resource Kit (also on
the W2K Resource Kit), called winexit. It's a screen saver program, and
you can set it up to auto logoff from what I have read.

You can download the resource kits from Microsoft, for the W2003 one, go to

This seems to be of help:
http://www.parents-friend.de/index1.htm

feature page:
http://www.parents-friend.de/pf1.htm

It has more features than what you are asking for. Yet, since
you have kids, you might find other features to be of great
value, sooner or later.

AmpSoft's Winoff program will lock/shut down/hibernate etc your
computer after a number of hours you specify, at a specific time or at
a certain CPU usage level. Also works with comman line options.
