Auto-Expanding Folders

why is it that some folders will auto-expand when a rule moves an email to it
but other folders will not auto-expand when a rule moves an email to it? If
there is an answer... How do I make it to where no folders expand when a rule
moves an email.

Currently I have 7 Rules that move email messages and when they are moved
the folders that they are a subset of do not auto-expand. However, I have 17
other rules that do cause an auto-expansion of the sub-folders.

This is boggling to me so I am hoping to be able to understand this.

Thanks in Advance,
Rob

I have never seen any rule cause a folder to expand. Subfolders won't
expand and mail level folders will remember their most recent state.

I was having the same problem and I think I found the cause in my case at
least. The rules that were marking emails as read were also causing the
folder to expand. I don't know if that's because it's a client-side action or
what, but I wish there was a better work around then removing the mark read
part of the rule.
