Auto-delete Access .ldb files

Every night we run scheduled udates to an access 97
database. The problem we run into is that users do not
log out of the database (24hr. operations) and the
scheduled updates do not run because the of the .ldb & mdb
files being open. We have told the users to logout during
the scheduled updates timeframe, however, we still have
users logged in. Can anyone tell me how to either force
users out of the database or delete the .ldb file to run
in a script each night?

Thanks!
