Auto creating text fields when creating new slide.

What Im trying to do is basically create a template which, besides the
standard title and body text boxes, there is also along the left side an
abbreviated toc which just lists the main parts of the presentation (eg,
Intro, About Us, Product Overview, Q&A, etc). Ive tried adding this to the
Master Slide, but it just results in text that is not editable on a created
slide.

I guess what Im trying to do is create a new placeholder separate from the
existing ones to hold settings for text style, alignment, etc., so these do
not have to be recreated via copy/paste for each slide. Id rather not add a
bunch of slides to the template file with this already copy/pasted on each
slide, it would be nice if it can be done automatically.

Sorry, you can't add extra placeholders. The best you are going to be
able to do is to create a "template" slide and copy and paste that slide
a bunch of time (or Insert > Duplicate Slide).
