how to restore the prompt to save the login and password for that site?

You may wish to modify the Autocomplete settings.

Open Internet Explorer.
Click on Tools, then Options.
Click on the Content tab.
Click on the Autocomplete button to open the Autocomplete
Settings box.

Modify the appropriate settings, then confirm them by click,
OK.

Hi,
Clearing all passwords should work to reset the "Save Password" option for
that site. IE> Tools> Options> Content> Autocomplete> Clear Passwords.

Protected Storage PassView from http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pspv.html will
help you recover other cached passwords *before* you clear all passwords.
