Auto-complete email address from Contacts in Outlook 2007

Previously, I used Outlook Express Ver. 6. Got a new laptop with Win Vista
and Outlook 2007. Imported my old address book into Contacts-Outlook 2007.
I know that when I create a new email in Outlook 2007 in the "To/CC/BCC"
auto-complete lists only recipents that I previously sent emails to.
Currently, my auto-complete lists shows email addresses, rather than names,
b/c my Contacts' "Display As" shows email addresses. When I used Outlook
Express before, I could type EITHER recipent's name or email address and
auto-complete went into my address book and completed rest. How do I get
Outlook 2007 to do the same? I do NOT want to have to go to the Contacts
list every time I am sending an email to a recipent for the first time on
Outlook 2007. Also, how do I change all the "Display As" from email address
to contact's name all at once, instead of one at a time?

You can populate the autocomplete with all your Contacts' details by
selecting them all (in the Contacts Folder) and creating an email addressed
to them. Then delete the email without sending it.

I tried your suggestion and it worked so I can type in the recipent's name or
email and auto-complete finishes it. HOWEVER, in order to do auto-complete
by name, I have to type in "Last name, then first name." Is there a way to
also do it by First name, then last name? I tried various ways to be able to
change the way the names are ordered. I changed the "File As" in the
Contacts folder. I customized the current view in the Contacts Folder so it
displayed first name, last name, then repeated your suggestion to populate
the autocomplete. I went to Tools/Account
Settings/AddressBookTab/OutlookAddressBook/Change/FirstName,LastName. But
none of my experiments worked. Any advice?

Did you set the display name to first last?

I tried as you suggested and changed the "Display As" for a few contacts to
their name, instead of their email address, and then did the same procedure
to populate the auto-complete and it worked. I was able to type in the first
name and auto-complete worked. However, my entire contact list has Internet
"Display As" the individual's email address. Is there a way that I can
change all-at-once the "Display As" to contact name for my entire contact
list, instead of having to go to each contact one-at-a-time and changing the
"Display As" one-at-a-time? Sorry to be so specific on how I like to set up
my email! Thank you in advance!
