How can I set a rule or "macro" to automatically add an email address into
BCC field for every email with the "backup" word in subject line? Any and all
help would be highly appreciated!

It does not appear (at least to me) that the suggestions perform the
desired action. From the site of the first suggestion "... that every
message will have a BCC recipient/s address added automatically,..." - note
that "every" message is sent BCC. The second recommendation keys the BCC
action by a specific address. The original post indicates the desire to
activate BCC based upon a "trigger" word/phrase.

The beauty of VBA is that you can edit it so it does exactly what you want
it to do. And if you aren't into VBA, there are utilities you can buy that
do exactly what you want.

JABAgdl,
For the process that you require to happen with outgoing mail. You will need
in addition to the Add-ins that Diane and Tech Expert has suggested for the
BCC: Line, a SPAM filtering program that will allow you to change or "mark"
the subject line with a phrase that a message rule can use.

I personally use POPFile v0.19.1, it's a real old version of the program,
but still works for me. There is a setting in it to add phrases to the
subject line, based on From, To, or Subject Line.

Or in Outlook there is a way to use a message rule to send a copy of every
sent message to a user created folder, that you label, such as "Backup Sent
Messages" folder. But it will not change the subject line of the outgoing
messages.
