Auto Arviving Retrieval

I had a user first notice this today, he went into his archive sent folder to
see if he could find a message and noticed his archive sent message was from
today till January 2007 then it skips to January 2006-2005. What he wants to
know is why arent the January 2006-January 2007 missing and how can we
recover that?
