The problem has nothing to do with Archiveing
If you attempt to start outlook & nothing appears to happen, first open Task
Manager, running processes tab, is outlook.exe showing, a single or multiple
instances?
If so end the instances, reboot your PC and try again
If no go, use your Office cd to run diagnostics
