Auto Archive Not Running - Outlook 2003

I am running Outlook 2003 / Exchange.
I setup Auto Archive for just one folder to delete all email older
than 3 days. All of the other folders are set not to archive. In the
main auto archive options section I set it to run every 1 day.

It has been a few days now and it did not run on its own.
It seems to work if you launch it manually.

Can someone please advise how to correct this ... or maybe tell me a
different way to automatically delete old email from a specified
folder. I tried looking at rules but couldnt find anything.

Rules only fire upon receiving or sending mail...

Are you using exchange cached mode? If so try disabling it
I'd also clean out the local caches in your profile (....local
settings\application data\microsoft\outlook and ....application
data\microsoft\outlook) to make sure there's nothing corrupted remaining there

I dont have cached mode enabled.
I did go to the directories you specified. The only thing I removed
was extend.dat
I dont know if its a coincidence or not but Auto Archive ran.
I still wish there was another way to automatically delete email older
than X day because auto archive looks at the modified date of the
email message instead of the received date.

only other way then would be either doing it manually or create a macro that
does it on demand
