Scenario

Operating System : Windows Vista Business

Office : MS Office 2007

Exchange Server : Exchange Server 2000.

Checked in 5 Vista machines. (All produces the following results).

I want to configure a email account in outlook 2007. While i give the
check name

the username password box keeps on popping. (Its not authenticating).

I have given the username in the form of mydomain/username. I have
tried other forms also(username@mydomain).

I set the domain ip address(that is my primary domain controller ip)
preferred dns server.

DNS resolution has taken place well. (using nslookup).

I have checked the same thing in a diffrent os..it s working perfectly
(Outlook 2007 in Windows XP,2003).

I added my exchange server ip, domain ip address in hosts file also.

I tried in cached exchange mode also..not worked.

No messages in Vista event viewer.

I read several manuals nothing helped me.

I tried to configure outlook 2007 as a IMAP Client and I succeded.

No firewall in my vista machine. I have disabled the security.

Finally i am concluded it s a Vista Realted issue.

As i was struggling this problem for more than one month, help me
solve this one.

Thanks in advance

I don't believe this is a Vista issue but it could be an issue with your
version of Exchange. Can you get to the mailbox on the Vista machines using
OWA?

I think you need Exchange 2003 or better for Outlook 2007, but I may be
wrong.
