Greetings,
We use VPN accounts that are local to our W2K VPN server (in an NT4
domain) to establish a VPN connection. Once users are on the network,
their domain user accounts (that they have logged onto their laptop
with) control file/email access. this has worked quite good for us
until recently. We have just moved to a Single Master Domain model
with seperate resource and account domains. All computers live in
"Domain R" and all users live in "Domain A". Now when we connect with
the local VPN account it doesn't seem to be passing through the
"Dpomain A" user credentials. When opening Outlook it prompts for our
domain credentials and I can enter them and connect just fine to our
Exchange Server. When accessing mapped drives it prompts for user
credentials but won't let me connect until I disconnect the network
drives associated with the particular server. And even then it
sometimes won't let me connect to certain servers....?
If I enable dial in perms on Domain A user account access is fine. But
I don't want to have to enable domain user accounts with dial in
access. Why am I having trouble passing through credentials from
accounts domain to resource domain using a VPN account that is local
to VPN server?
Let me know if you need further info. Thanks in advance for the help!
Sean
