System: Windows XP with Frontpage 2002.

The frontpage authentication dialog box pops often and
sporadically as if I have opened up FrontPage and trying
to edit one of my FP webs. However, it does this when
Frontpage is CLOSED! I believe it is only happening when
I have Outlook open but I am not sure. Anyone else have
this happen? Any ideas?

Thanks.

How do you know it's actually the frontpage authentication dialogue - it could be
the one for Outlook or your ISP (if you don't have the 'save password' active
when you log on, it will prompt later after dialling in. (they all look pretty
much the same).

You've said it happens when Outlook is open so I'm guessing it is the Outlook
authetication box that is coming up asking for your Email password and username,
not Frontpage. Generally they are one and the same if your host and ISP are the
same company.

Why have you questioned it being the frontpage dialogue? this only would come up
if you actually go File > Publish Web within frontpage - there is no other reason
for it to do so.

Next time it happens could you grab a screen shot (print-scr button) of it and
publish it and post the URL so we can see?

I believe it to be the Frontpage dialog box because it
says "Secured Frontpage on www.xxxxxx.com" A screenshot
is at http://www.john4realty.com/capture.jpg. All of my
email accounts work fine and have passwords saved so I
don't believe that is the culprit.

The dialog is generated by the OS based on the response from the server.
