Authentication across domains

I have a site with a parent and a child domain. When users accounts in
the chile domain get locked out so do the accounts in the parent
domain. They are completely seperate accounts with a one way trust.
The child domain trusts the parent, but the parent does not trust the
child. I can not figure out why the parent accounts are getting locked
out.

Any help would be appreciated.
