My W2K has not been booting. It stopped at the W2K splash
screen when the blue loading bar got about 3/4's of the
way across. Occassionally, it worked, but I was always
able to get into safe mode, even though it took a bloody
long time.
Anyway, after discussion with a few people I decided to
format the C: drive (partitioned with a D:, but left this
to preserve data) and reinstall windows 2000 professional.
I have got another problem, the install stops while
detecting and installing devices when the load bar gets
about half way...WHAT DO I DO???

Did you chose to format your drive during install? It
could be a faulty HD.

Thanks, I pulled out most of the cards in my computer and
it worked, just have to put them back in one by one now to
see where the problem was.
