Just installaed Windows XP Professional on a HP Pavillion
8630 with the above onboard sound driver, which is
resulting in the PC rebooting every time any audio
programs are accessed. Aureal appear to have gone out of
business and there does not appear to be any new drivers
developed to support Windows XP!

Previously we were using Windows 98 and had no problems
of this type.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you gone to www.vortexofsound.com? They have further information
on Aureal support under Windows XP.

John,

I have the same soundcard and the native drivers that come with Win XP
work fine. So, use them.
