Video recording problem.
CPU Intel Pentium 4, 1.7 GHz
RAM 512 MB
OS Windows XP SP2
Hard Drives 130 GB free space
Video capture card: Turtle Beach Video Advantage PCI.
Sound capture card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 with latest updates
Video capture program: CyberLink PowerDirector 5 Premium
This original combination worked fine. The picture recorded as well as the
audio. I could record using either S-Video or composite video.
I could see the picture on the thumbnail monitor as well as hear the sound
as the recording was made.
Then, I could play the clip back using the PowerDiredtor editor. The picture
and the audio played back. I could also edit the clip, which is what all of
the hardware and software is for.
And then I tweaked something and suddenly the audio recording ability was
gone. Now, the picture records but the audio does not.
All of the connections are still the same and have been checked and
rechecked.
I have removed and reinstalled the pertinent software.
[Other installed video capture and editing software:
AD FullCap
Roxio 7.5
Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 5.0
These all the have the same problem-audio doesn't record either.]
I have struggled with this problem for three months and have tried almost
everything.
It has to be something simple but I am at a loss as what to try next.
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.
