Hi i love spam,

You can stop audio/video file previews for all folders by editing the Global
HyperText template that is used for Web View: C:\WINNT\Web\folder.htt. The method you
use to edit the template depends on what version of Microsoft Windows 2000 you are
running. The following assumes that you have never edited C:\WINNT\Web\folder.htt.

For Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, SP1 and SP2:

- Logon as a user in the Administrators group
- If necessary change your Explorer view options as follows:
Control Panel > Folder Options > View [tab]:
Select: "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"
- Use Explorer to navigate to the following folder:
C:\WINNT\Web
- Make a (back-up) copy of the original system file named folder.htt
- Use notepad to open C:\WINNT\Web\folder.htt
- Delete the following three lines. Save and Close folder.htt.

<br>
<span id=MediaPlayerSpan>
</span>

For Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional SP3 and SP4 you have two choices.

First choice: Apply the workaround in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article
and then use the same steps given above.

KB819028 - Windows Explorer No Longer Displays Web View Templates or HTML
Customizations (Using Folder.htt)
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=819028

Second choice:

- Logon as a user in the Administrators group
- If necessary change your Explorer view options as follows:
Control Panel > Folder Options > View [tab]:
Select: "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)"
- Use Explorer to create a temporary folder
- Use Explorer to navigate to the following folder:
C:\WINNT\Web
- Rename the original system file named folder.htt to folder.bak
- Make a copy C:\WINNT\Web\folder.bak, paste it into the temporary folder, and rename
it folder.txt
- Open folder.txt and, if necessary, minimize it temporarily
- Right-click in the file list control area of the temporary folder and choose
Customize This Folder. Click Next. Make certain that "Choose or edit an HTML
template for this folder" is selected and click Next. Select the option that reads
"I want to edit this template" and click Next.
- Delete all of the text in the file that the Wizard opens for you named folder.htt
- Restore folder.txt and copy all the text from it and paste it into folder.htt
- In folder.htt delete the following three lines:

<br>
<span id=MediaPlayerSpan>
</span>

- Save and Close folder.htt
- Click Finish to complete the Customize This Folder Wizard
- Open the hidden folder just created by the Wizard named "Folder Settings" which
contains the customized folder.htt that you just modified
- Copy this customized folder.htt and Paste it into the C:\WINNT\Web folder

Please repost if you have any problems or question.
