audio using net messenger

i have a 10 day old pc. its a dell p4. it has a SB live
sond card, n i am using a logitech pro 3000 web cam. when
using net messenger i can recieve sound but not send any.
all diagnostic seem to tell that it should work. Win Xp
tells me tat it works, i get movement of my mic bard when
i talk. Any suggestion?
