I installed a new soundcard and its drivers and my
computer detects it in Device Manager but when i try to
play a sound it doesn't work it says that no soundcard is
installed. So i went to Audio/Sounds menu in control panel
and it says that no Audio Device is installed. When i
selected the Hardware tab in Audio Sounds it shows all my
sound devices. But the Volume and Audio tabs don't show
anything. So my question is how do i make it(Sounds/Audio
Menu) detect my soundcard? (Just in case it is a
SoundBlaster 16 PCI card.) Thanks.

Hi, did you have onboard sound before you installed the card. Meaning it
played sound without the card or any other card. If this is the case you
have to go into your bios setting and disable the onboard sound and enable
the soundcard

I would delete all sound cards shown in device manager and
then reboot, then reinstall the drivers for the new sound
card.

As a last resort, reinstalling windows after formating the
hard drive will almost certainly fix the problem.
