Audio - Sound Effects Problem (how to speed up Audio (voice))?

I have Windows Vista with Windows Media Player and Windows moviemaker 6.

I am trying to vary/change the playing speed of a short audio clip (.wma) to
simulate the cartoon Chipmunk sound. To me, this seems to be a basic type
of sound effect. However I have not been able to do this, or find any
other way to accomplish this with my New Windows Vista . . . Also I would
liked to be able to change the Treble and or Bass for a similar effect. I
cannot find a way to do this either.

I have accomplished sound effect in the past with my old Windows XP and
Microphone Recorder. The simple adjustment to do this, was on the microphone
recorder (File, Option), where you had the option to (increase by 25% or
50%). The Microphone Recorder that came with my new Vista, does not have
this option or any other that I can see.

I desperately need help on this problem. If someone has the answer, it would
be much appreciated. As I am a 'rookie' at this moviemaking stuff, I would
require easy, step by step instructions.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Check your Effects list you should
find "Speed Up Double".

Drag the Effect and Drop it on the
clip. You can add up to 6 instances
of an effect.

Hi John

I've tried doing that, however the . . . . Effects (double speed) seems
only to speed up the Video (picture) portion of the frame. The sound/voice
seems to remains the same. Am I doing something wrong?

It will definitely speed up the audio...is it possible
that you imported a separate audio file and added
it to the Audio/Music Track? If so...drop the Effect
on that track.
