I have an ATI all-in-wonder 128. It records audio and video just fine. The
only problem I have with it is that the audio that is recorded is peaked at
top levels, making the sound awful during playback. I have tryed all of the
Windows audio settings (WinXP) and raising them and lowering them makes no
difference in the recorded audio level. Any idas? Anyone.

This has to do with your LINE IN recording level. Double click on the Volume
icon in the Tray. Click Options - Properties - Recording, then OK. Make sure
LINE is SELECTED and adjust the volume. Test.

Thanks Tom,
Tried that before and tried again...nope. That will bring the volume down
while watching and recording, but still in playback, the volume is distorted
like it is on volume 11. I have also recorded video, burned it to CD, played
it in a DVD player and the sound is awful. I have also turned down and used
both settings in "Digital VCR", the 44,100KHz, 16 bit and 22,050KHz, 16 bit.
Both give the same results.

In article <Tw0lb.86481$(E-Mail Removed)>,
BeeMan_No_Spam_@hot.rr.com says...

Search DejaNews for a thread on your problem. There is a WDM driver
patch available somewhere on the web to tone the volume down a bit. I
think maybe it was on the Hercules website.

You don't have it plugged into the mic input per chance?
