I have a USB DVD drive with audio outputs on the back. I have wired these
outputs to an amp, and speakers.
The setup works, however audio played through the DVD drive is directed to
play through the PC speaker, not the amp.
How can i configure this so that audio is played through the 'audio out'
ports on the rear of the drive (the speakers) and not the PC speaker?
Any help in regard to this would be much appreciated!

I am not sure, but I wonder if you can.

You see, there is no problem at all playing bitmap-sound from a CD to an
amplifier.
(I suppose that you can listen to CDs your way.)

Playing DVDs invokes knowledge of directories and (I did not check this)
compression schemes - which is beyond that audio connector.

Why not connect your computer to the amp? I have my Adcom connected and in
fact have it going the other way so I can capture and burn old vinyl
records...
