Your first sentence says a lot .....
However, you may have a conflict if you still have your on-board sound
activated. Its possible to use that and a USB device, but you'll need to
make sure that the USB device is selected as the defaut system. The best
thing is to ddisable the on-baord sound card in the BIOS.
