I recently upgraded my computer (with an Asus main board and Pentium D
Processor) and in the process had to reinstall my copy of Windows XP Pro SP2.
There was a Surround sound system on the main board for which I installed
all the drivers from the disk that came with it.
I do get audio when I play iTunes, Windows Media player and games. The
problem comes when I look at video on the internet, (in either IE or Firefox)
I see the picture but there is no audio.
I have looked in the “Sounds and Audio Device properties” in the Control
panel, every thing is working properly and nothing is muted. I have checked
that all the relevant drivers (for internet media) are installed but I figure
that if I can _see_ the video I should be able to _hear_ the audio.
I realize this may be a simple solution but I can’t figure it out at the
moment. Any suggestions as to what’s going on?
