The microphone would need to be plugged into the microphone jack on the
PC separately. Until the hardware is connected, there is no input for
the software to identify. If there is not a separate plug on the cord
for the microphone then the one plug contains both the headphone AND
microphone connections and is not designed to work with PC sound cards,
and you should aquire a different unit.
