You may need to adjust your multimedia settings.

While on the slide that contains the audio icon, go to
Custom Animation. Select the Media object and click on
the Multimedia Settings tab. Set it to Stop Playing:
After X slides, where X is the number of slides in your
presentation. (To be even safer, type in a larger
number.)
