In PP 2007, I know how to use Animations/Custom Animation/Change/Sound
Actions to modify the behavior so when you click on the Audio Icon it Pauses
the audio file and Resumes when you click again.

BUT: Is there a way so that *in addition* to this feature you can start the
audio file again at the first (by, for instance, double clicking).


Example: You have an audio clip that you want to run and pause to make
comments. But after you have started the audio there is some interruption
and you want to start the audio over again immediately rather than having to
let it play to the end.

Linked and embedded sounds act differently so I guess you have a linked file.

You will need to add a further animation "Play" and trigger this with
another shape.
You should then have a choice of pause or play when you restart the sound?
Does that work?

Hi John,

I believe "Linked" because I used Insert/Insert Sound From File and a .wav
file is then associated with a Speaker Horn icon. Configuring the Pause
feature adds a little "hand" icon next to the speaker (but this hand is
invisible in the slideshow view).

As I understand it, you are suggesting I add a new shape and associate the
sound file to it so that I have 2 icons on the slide: one that has the
click/pause ability, and one that plays from the beginning.

But in that case, if you start over with the new icon you have lost the
ability to pause. So I think if this is to work it has to be all part of the
events associated with one icon.

If there is no simple way to have the "dual" features of Play/Pause and
Play/Restart, is this something that could be globally coded with VBA? I'm
very familiar with Access/Excel/Word VBA, but I haven't used any in PP.
