Audio Cds don't work

Everytime when I insert an audio cd into my computer using both a cd drive
and dvd drive my computer freezes 10 seconds later. However every other
format (Video, game, dvd, etc) works fine. Its just the audio cd's that
freeze my computer. How do I go about fixing this problem?
It also doesnt let me burn cd's as well. The only problem I can think
that's causing this was that I got literally a brand new computer except my
hard drives and opticals.
