How do get a USB headset (digital) and my speakers, 5.1 to work at the same
time? The speakers are connected to the sound card.

Do believe the earphone socket switches off speakers, when phones are
plugged in.

I was thinking that was what he was talking about but I wasn't sure if this
was a digital output problem. The headphones can be adjusted to be on with
the speakers from the 'audio headquarters' applet in the control panel.

there is no 'mute speakers when headphones are plugged in'?
have you updated the driver to the latest?

yes, there is a mute selection, howerver it doesn't do anything.....
yes drivers are current.....
