Hello, I just bought an audigy 2 sound card, and I am trying to get it to
work on my IC7-G motherboard without success. I get the error code 10, "This
Device Cannot Start", when I look at my hardware list under "system". I made
sure to go into my BIOS and disable the onboard sound in the PCI settings,
and removed the old sound driver, Realtek AC97, from my hardware list. I also
tried the drivers on the CD as well as brand new drivers from Creative's
site, and I get the same message. Is it because the computer still thinks I
have the onboard sound card, or is it just my motherboard? I even tried to
keep the BIOS setting to on, but just disabled the old onboard sound in the
hardware list. I am out of options here.

I have the same sound card. I didn't have any trouble setting it up on
an asus MB. Maybe the card is just bad. What does it say in Device
Manager?

Try this. Take the sound card out. Reboot the system. Check Device
manager to make sure there are no errors. Turn off system and install card.
See what happens when the systems starts up. It should "Find New hardware".
According to the instructions that came with mine you should cancel out of
the wizard. This is when you run the CD that came with the card.
If it doesn't find new hardware then I'd take the card back.

I tried the card in my friend's computer, works 100% fine. I will try what
you said once more....

Are you sure you disabled *ALL* on-board sound-related options in your BIOS?
Check again! I've faced this when the settings (IRQ, I think) for MIDI &
Gameport are still active!
