Hello! !
Audacity never answers my emails..But I need help..Here goes......
Version of Audacity ( 1.2.6)...
Operating system Windows XP Service Pack 2...

I have downloaded lame_enc.dll,unzipped and it is on the desktop..After
clicking "Export a WMA song as MP3 the response asked me if I wanted to
locate the file..Said yes and it took me to a box named "where is the
lame_enc.dll"..That is the box where I selected the wma song...The file name
in that box was "lame_enc.dll"..Audacity did not ask "audacity said the
first time you use the "Export as MP3" command, Audacity will ask you where
lame_enc.dll is saved"..It didn't........What to do?...

Thanks....Nick Meale

The easiest is to put the lame encoder in the same folder as Audacity. It
will find it. Do not save it to the desktop.

Cheers,
Jerry

Sorry, should have been more explicit.

c:/program/file/audacity/plugins should do the trick.

However, if you need to show Audacity where to look do the following (and
this is for the 1.3 Beta version which BTW, is a stable version) :

Edit > Preferences > Audio Files > mp3 Export Library > Find Library > Lame
etc....... will show up if in the plugin folder. If its not in that folder
for some reason, then use the Browse button and point the way - if you put
the Lame decoder in that folder its not necessary.

Cheers,
Jerry
