It is possible to identify and change attributes en bloc through the DIR in
command mode but this doesn't seem to be possible for C (compressed files).
Is this correct?

Thanks.

Thanks Mark. Yet another Microsoft inconsistency? The compact command talks
of 'compressing'. I thought compacting and compressing had different
meanings?
