ATTN: Canon i865 owners

I must first say that I have always been a Epson fan, until now, I have just
purchased my first canon, the i865.

I am very impressed with what I have printed so far, even though it does not
have the photo inks the photos I have printed are far superior to what I had
printed with my Epson photo 900 and 915.

The main point of posting this thread is that I am a bit confused, the cd
attachment that fits into the front of the printer it has two openings, one
for the cd tray and a one to the left of that, something obviously slides
into this opening in the same way as the cd tray as there is an arrow
pointing towards the printer. Does anyone know what this slot is for as I
cant seem to find any reference for this slot on canons website or the
instructions you get.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

I would also like to know where you got the i865 as I was looking at the
i860 at Best Buy yesterday in Springfield, Mo. and the salesman said that
Canon did not make an i865. Also what is the price of the i865 ? Any major
differences from the i860 that was priced at $149.99? I didn't buy the
860.
Thanks for any info.

John,
The Canon i865 is a printer not available in the U.S. It prints directly
onto a CD. That slot might be where the CD is inserted or exits when
printing on to a CD.
That's about all I know about it.
Good Luck with your printer.

Sorry forgot to mention, I am in the UK, I would help you guys out and send
some i865's by courier but I think the US has a different voltage (I think).
If it uses the same voltage let me know.

Don, there a two slots at the front, I know one slot is where you slide the
tray in that the cd fits on but the other slot is only about 2 inches wide
(not wide enough for cd), something definitely slides into this slot, anyone
any ideas what this is for. I am that curious I might phone canon tomorrow.

I was also interested in the 250 sheet paper magazine but got a shock when I
saw the price £85 in the UK, I think I will make do with what I have.

Hi Emmet, I bought the i865 for £159.99 at PCWorld (UK) after giving them a
£10.00 off voucher.

In the writings of , the <McsEb.7452$ti2.1571@lakeread03> scrolls

Try here for a Comparison of British prices:

http://www.pcindex.co.uk/results_Pro...ry=25&Maker=79
&PartDescr=&Submit=Search+PC+index&id=402784181

Or try this:

http://makeashorterlink.com/?D6EE129D6

It's a reference point for other hardware as well. At the moment E-buyer
in the UK is one of the better suppliers/price points.

Do you presume this by the arrow printed on that space to the right of
the Cd loading slot? This arrow is used to line-up the "slider" which
must be pushed in after attaching the cd-r tray. That's the reference
made on page 3, "Canon CD-R Print Guide". So the arrow doesn't refer to
sliding anything else in, excepting the clear "slider" on the cd-r tray.

At least that is for Australian spec models.
