Attachments Minimizing Automatically

When I click to open an email attachment in Outlook 2003 (eg. a Word
document) it opens the document minimized on the toolbar rather than bringing
up the attachment in it's own application window, this is really annoying.
So, I have to click on the application button on the taskbar everytime I open
an attachment to be able to view the attachment.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with opening attachments in Outlook,
is there a fix?
