Attachments from a mapped network drive

Hello

I'm not entirely sure whether this problem is outlook or the mapped
network drive at fault.
I have a user who can attach files to emails from his local HDD with
no problem, however when attaching a file from a mapped network drive,
more often than not the attach process times out (with no error
message).
The user can copy files to and from the mapped drive in explorer with
no problems at all.

If anybody could suggest a solution to this problem I would be very
grateful.
