What do you have your default message format set for? If you have it set to
Microsoft Rich Text Format, this would likely be the problem, set it to
wither Plain Text or HTML instead. Rich Text Format is only understood by
Outlook, ALL other email clients will either show an an attachment named
"Winmail.dat" which refuses to open, or will have no attachment at all.
